Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 (34 C.F.R. Part 106) is a federal civil rights statue that prohibits discrimination of the basis of sex in educational programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance, stating:

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

The following are examples of the types of discriminations that are covered under Title IX:  sexual harassment; the failure to provide equal opportunity in athletics; discrimination in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) courses and programs; and discrimination based on pregnancy.

Board Policy 4.11 Equal Educational Opportunity
No students in Green Forest School District shall, on the grounds of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity sponsored by the District.

Green Forest High School offers Career and Technical Education Programs in:

 Agricultural Power, Structural, and Technical Systems;
 Animal Systems
 Automotive Service Technology
 Construction Technology
 Family & Consumer Science-Family Studies
 Industrial Equipment Technology
 Medical Professions
 Social Media & Communications Welding

Admission to these programs is based on career interest, aptitude, required prerequisites and course availability.  It is the policy of Green Forest High School not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or handicap in its vocational programs, services or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
